Message left at 11:27 am, Wed 20th Feb 2013Dear Simon, Thank you for your comment. I am delighted that you have given your support to the local health services campaign. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde will be launching their acute services
review this spring and we are currently collecting signatures to demonstrate the level of support a north of the river solution for local health care has in the local area. This would involve
services being maintained and improved at the Vale of Leven hospital with specialist acute services delivered from the Golden Jubilee hospital. We also want to see A&E services provided North of
the river. The campaign team will shortly be meeting with Robert Calderwood, Chief Executive of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and Alex Neil MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing to pursue
our case. I share your frustration that past campaigns to save services at the Vale of Leven hospital has not resulted in the outcomes that we would have wished. It is the case that under successive
governments, more services have been removed from the Vale and transferred to the RAH, and thousands more people are having to make the journey across the river. As your MSP I have always campaigned
to keep services at the Vale, irrespective of who is in government at Holyrood. It is a wonderful local hospital and the staff deserve our support and praise. With that in mind I will continue to
champion local health services and I am calling on the Scottish Government and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to keep services North of the River Clyde. Best wishes, Jackie
