SNP Will Let Tories Back Into Power

Local MSP Jackie Baillie has criticised the SNP for admitting that they are preparing to vote with David Cameron’s Conservative Party – after press briefings that they are preparing to prop up a minority Tory Government in Westminster.

The SNP first voiced their willingness to work with the Tories in their election leaflets for the Glasgow North East by-election, a proposal that was firmly dismissed by the community as they voted overwhelmingly for local Labour candidate Willie Bain.

Jackie is outraged that the SNP are willing to forget the decades of hurt that Scotland suffered under a Conservative Government in order to pursue a higher profile for their party.

She said, "I am shocked that the SNP, who consistently herald themselves as a party of Scotland would even begin to consider propping up the Conservative Party after what they did to Scotland when they were last in power.

"Labour has made clear its commitment to steer the Scottish economy out of recession and protect the most vulnerable in our society. Labour is building a Future Fair For All whereas the SNP are only concerned with their own electoral future.

"The people in this area suffered years of misery under Thatcher and Major and the SNP appear more than happy to help inflict more of that misery under Cameron. The SNP candidate needs to make his position clear – does he support the Tories?

"The message is simple in the next General Election. Vote SNP, Get Tory."
