Double Lotto Success

Big Lottery 1Dumbarton MSP Jackie Baillie has congratulated two local community groups on securing just over £18,000 in lottery funding.

The Rocks Club and the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Community Partnership were awarded £10,000 and £8,100 respectively.

The Rocks Club is a newly established group who plan to hold workshops for young people that highlight the dangers of driving under the influence of drinks and/or drugs with the use of a driving simulator. The £10,000 will go towards the purchase of the driving simulator.

The Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Community Partnership has received £8,100 to go towards organising a programme of learning, training and networking activities to enable community groups and individuals to better understand and serve the local area.

Jackie said:

"This is excellent news for two of our local community groups who can really put this lottery money to good use.

"The Rocks Club plan to highlight the dangers of driving whilst under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. This lottery funding will allow the Club to purchase a driving simulator to emphasise the hazards involved in drink or drug driving.

"The Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Community Partnership will use their funding to hold training and learning events to help local people become more aware of the local area."
